Privacy Policy — Assamese Panjika (Offline)

This Privacy Policy explains how Prymax Technologies ("we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with the Assamese Panjika (Offline) mobile application (the "App"), available on Google Play (package name com.prymaxtechnologies.oxomiyabhaktipanjika.rashifalandcalendar). It applies to version 2.3.0 of the App and later.

The short version: the panjika itself (calendar, day view, rashifal and holiday list) is calculated on your phone, works without an internet connection and shows no ads, apart from one optional card on the day view (see below). When it has a connection, the App tells us which of its main pages are opened and how often the optional features' unlock choices are used, and sends a report if it crashes, so that we can improve it; neither ever includes your rashi, city, names or birth details. It has no account system, and we run no servers. The optional features in the App's Extras tab (marriage dates, numerology, palm reading and tarot cards), and the "Birth and death details" card on the day view, show ads from Google AdMob; to show those ads, Google may collect some information from your device, as described below. The birth details, names and palm-reading answers you enter in those features, and your tarot readings, stay on your phone. If you never open those features, or that card's choice, no ads are requested. The card opens for a day after one watched ad, or at once if you have bought any Extras feature; the day view's calendar, times and other cards stay free of ads.

Information We Collect

Usage statistics and crash reports, and nothing that identifies you by name. We operate no servers that this App talks to; this information is processed for us by Google, as described below.

Usage statistics: the App uses Google Analytics for Firebase, a service of Google LLC, to count which of its main pages are opened. Each time you open one, the App records only the page's name, such as "Home" or "Numerology - Report", and nothing about what is on it. In the Extras features it also counts the steps towards opening a full report: when the locked part is shown, when you tap to watch an ad or to buy, whether the ad finished or no ad was available, and whether a purchase went through. Each of these counts says only which feature it was, where the ad was offered, and whether you see the newer or the older look of the locked part. That choice is made by Firebase Remote Config, also a service of Google LLC, which the App contacts when it has a connection, using the identifier for this installation of the App; it never uses your name, dates, answers or results. Google Analytics also records on its own when the App is first opened, how long it is used, your device type, your approximate region, and an identifier for this installation of the App, and it may collect your device's advertising ID.
Crash reports: if the App crashes, Firebase Crashlytics, also a service of Google LLC, sends us a report of the error: where in the App it happened, the state of the App at that moment, details of your device such as its model and Android version, and a random identifier for this installation of the App, used to count how many installations a problem affects.

Neither usage statistics nor crash reports ever include your rashi, city or location, your settings, or the names and birth details you enter; the App does not add any of that to them. We use them only to find faults and to see which features are used. They cannot be switched off inside the App. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings under Google → Ads (or Privacy → Ads). Information collected by Google for advertising is described under Advertising.

Information the App Stores on Your Device

So that it can remember your preferences between sessions, the App saves the following in its own private storage on your phone:

the rashi you selected, if you selected one
the city you selected, or coordinates found with the optional "use my location" feature, used to calculate sunrise
whether the daily reminder is switched on, and the time you chose
your display preferences: language, colour theme, text size and clock format
the calculation method (ayanamsha) you selected
if you use the marriage feature: the birth details (date, time and place, or rashi and nakshatra) and optional names you enter for a couple, and any couples you choose to save
if you use the numerology feature: the names and dates of birth you enter, for yourself and for anyone you compare with, and any people you choose to save
if you use the palm reading feature: your answers to its questions, and any readings you choose to save, with the name you give them
if you use the tarot cards feature: a random number made on your phone that picks your card of the day, the day you last turned that card over, the latest reading you opened today, so that you can open it again until midnight, and any readings you choose to save; a reading is kept only as the cards drawn and the topic you tapped, and you never type anything into it
which Extras features you have bought, or opened for the day by watching an ad (the day view's card included), and how many results you have opened today in each Extras feature, so that the free version's daily limit can be applied

This information stays on your device and is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. Uninstalling the App deletes all of it.

Reports You Save or Share

If you have bought a feature, or watched an ad for a report's PDF, you can share the report as a PDF or save it to a folder you choose on your phone. The PDF is made on your phone and goes only where you send or save it; the App keeps no copy except the latest one, in its private storage, for the share screen.

Advertising

Ads in the Extras features, and for the day view's "Birth and death details" card, are served by Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC. When an ad is requested, the Google Mobile Ads SDK in the App may collect and share with Google:

device identifiers, including the Android advertising ID
approximate location, derived from your IP address
information about your interaction with ads and the App
diagnostic information, such as crash and performance data from the ads SDK

Google uses this information to deliver and measure ads, to personalise them where you have allowed it, and to prevent fraud. How Google handles it is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and in Google's Privacy Policy. The App is not offered in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland. On any Android phone you can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your device's settings under Google → Ads (or Privacy → Ads).

Usage Statistics and Crash Reports

Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics process the information described under Information We Collect on our behalf. The information is encrypted while it is sent. How Google handles it is described in the Firebase privacy information and in Google's Privacy Policy.

In-App Purchases

Where the App offers a purchase, such as removing ads from a feature, the payment is handled entirely by Google Play. We do not receive your payment details. Google Play tells the App only whether a purchase was made, so that it can unlock what you bought.

Internet Access

The App declares the Android INTERNET permission so that the Extras features can show ads, and so that usage statistics and crash reports can be sent. The panjika itself does not need the internet: all panchang and rashifal calculations, and the marriage, numerology, palm reading and tarot features, are performed on your device.

Android System Backup

Android's built-in backup feature may include the preferences listed above in your device backup, which is stored in your own Google account. It never includes the birth details, names, answers or saved couples, people, palm readings and tarot readings from the Extras features, the tarot card-of-the-day number, or your purchases, ad unlocks and daily counts. This is a function of the Android operating system, not of this App; we have no access to it. You can turn it off in your device settings under Google → Backup.

Permissions

The App uses these permissions:

INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: to request ads in the Extras features, and to send usage statistics and crash reports
AD_ID: lets the ads SDK and Google Analytics read the Android advertising ID, as described under Advertising and Information We Collect
ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_ATTRIBUTION and ACCESS_ADSERVICES_TOPICS: added by the Google Mobile Ads SDK, for Android's own advertising APIs, used only for the ads in the Extras features
BIND_GET_INSTALL_REFERRER_SERVICE: added by Google Analytics for Firebase, to learn from Google Play how the App was found and installed
BILLING: added by Google Play Billing, so that purchases can be made through Google Play
ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION (optional, asked for only if you use "use my location"): approximate location, used on your phone to calculate sunrise; it is never sent anywhere by the App
POST_NOTIFICATIONS (optional): to show the daily reminder with the day's tithi
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: to set the daily reminder again after your phone restarts
WAKE_LOCK and FOREGROUND_SERVICE: added by Android's WorkManager library, which the App uses to prepare the daily reminder

Declining any optional permission leaves every other feature of the App fully working.

Children's Privacy

The App is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

Third Parties

The only third party involved is Google: through the Google Mobile Ads SDK in the Extras features, Google Play for purchases, Google Analytics for Firebase for usage statistics, and Firebase Crashlytics for crash reports. We do not sell data, and we share it with no one else.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a revised effective date above. Any future version of the App that collects more data would be announced here before that version is released.
